After coming in second place last week at the Coudersport Invitational, the Wellsboro golf team came on strong in their first NTL action of the season. Ty Morral had an outstanding outing, shooting 75 on the day and leading all players. Also, Joseph Propheta was the second best golfer of the afternoon shooting a 78. Both players have started the season extremely strong and will look to continue to impove as they move forward. Wellsboro looks to repeat this year as district champs and continue the early success of the season.
North-Penn Mansfield also had an extremely solid outing. Coming in second place overall, right behind Wellsboro, Ethan Weiskopff who shot an 85 leading his team was their standour performer. Another notable performance was Curtis Craig who shot a 91 on the afternoon.
North-Penn Mansfield has an extremely young team with no seniors on the roster, but will look to build and improve this season to compete for a district championship as well.
Both team look to continue their strong play, and will both be looking to take the NTL championship this seaosn. The next NTL golf action will be held next Thursday 2:30 p.m. at the Towanda Country Club.
